Update: Change of plans

I have decided to stop using this blog as a blog for anime/manga purposes. I now have a Wordpress blog dedicated to that purpose. So, this blog is exactly what it says in the title, a collection of my thoughts about various things.

Weekly Shonen Jump Look -April 9th 2010

Bakuman Ch. 81
Summary
The two mangaka's think about what to do for their next manga. Hattori tells Miura to make them do a fantasy. Miura convinces them to try it, and after some hesitation particularly on Takagi's behalf they write one. The manga is about a boy going to a mountain to toss a sword into it. Takagi doesn't like it; it's not deep enough for him. The others like it though, it's simple and it works. However when it is submitted it doesn't even get into the meeting. The two are distraught by this development but Miura shows up with Hattori, and tells them that they should incorporate everything they have learnt into the next and last attempt.
Thoughts
Nothing overly special this chapter, but we saw some good progress being made. By this point in the manga the characters have developed quite well especially Mashiro. Mashiro has become a lot smarter as this manga wore on, and to me he now exudes the aura of a true kickass mangaka. More so then his determination (which he has kept since the beginning) he can now see through the actions of his editor and clearly see the good in them, and at the same time he isn't scared to stand up anymore.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn Ch. 285
Summary
Tsuna has a chat and walks to school with the wimpy transfer student. When they reach the school, they discover Hibari and the other school's disciplinary person getting ready to fight. After a few blows Reborn kicks Tsuna into the fray (Tarzan style). It is then explained that the transfer students are another family(Shimon) and they are Vongola's guests.
Thoughts
I am so glad the future arc is over. I am loving this classic Reborn, it's so funny and lighthearted. I was also happy that the Shimon family were revealed as guests and not rivals. They might just end up being bad but this isn't a bad start, something big will no doubt happen leading up to the inheritance ceremony and/or at the ceremony.

Nurarihyon no Mago Ch. 101 (only feels much longer:P)
Summary
The assassin guy was getting his ass handed to him, when his partner burst in and saved him. The two then teamed up like old times apparently. The girl who can freeze stuff was shown hanging while bleeding. Her blood froze some mice, interesting but irrelevant overall. Then there is some talk of a sword and it is shown with some sneaky demon. Who proclaims that everything is going according to plan. He is standing next to a crow guy. They were shown earlier but I just can't remember.
Thoughts
Nothing much, regular chapter.

Bleach Ch.399(o.O)
Summary
Isshin and Aizen fight a bit, Aizen uses Kiddo to attack Isshin. Gin tells Ichigo that it's been a long time since the gate incident in Soul Society. That was the last time the two fought. Gin apparently found Ichigo interesting. Ichigo says he can not recall because he could not read Gin's thoughts at the time. According to Ichigo, he can sense his opponents thoughts when they hit him (not literally) but couldn't detect anything from Gin because Gin was not looking at him. After hearing this Gin says: " I thought you were interesting before but now you are just creepy." They talk some more and Gin reveals his reatsu. Gin explains that his shikai can extend for a hundred sword lengths, and his bankai can go for 13km! He then unleashes his bankai and launches it at Ichigo. Ichigo blocks it and asks Gin why he is so surprised. "After all a bankai can stop another bankai". Ichigo then getsuga's Gin. Gin then says " you really are a creepy kid".
Thoughts
I really liked this chapter, like I liked the previous 2. Isshin is pretty cool, and the two are pretty well matched (for now anyways). I thoroughly enjoyed Gin's creepy lines and his super creepy faces. I was thinking that Ichigo would get pwned but he didn't and actually did pretty good. Looking forward to next week.

Naruto Ch. 490
Summary
Kabuto blackmails Madara by summoning another being. The face or identity is not revealed but my friends predicted that it might be Madara's brother. It could also be the 1st who knows? The Leaf Ninja arrive at the location and decide to head back to report to the village. Then Naruto had a long talk with the frogs about the nine tails and they key. The ninetails has a chakra part and a mind part, if he withdraws chakra the mind can come along. Naruto has to become strong enough to resist it. Naruto agreed to try his best and now they are of to look for an Octopus. In the Raikage's village they have a meeting while the fish guy hides in the sword observing, bumble bee is just trying to make poems.
Thoughts
Another great chapter. It would seem that Kabuto is one sneaky bastard. I like him. I was happy with Naruto, I was sure he would sprout that "oh I don't want to rely on the fox" crap but he didn't. Some more parallels being drawn with the similarities to Sasuke's decision to take Itachi's eyes. Great chapter overall, I look forward to next week.

The generation with the best entertainment.

For the best couple of days, I have been searching up old shows from my childhood. Looking on the youtube comments, it's interesting how everyone seems to think that these old shows were much better then current ones. Now I am of the same opinion, to me it looks like the shows of my childhood were clearly better then their contemporary counterparts. But, this is where it gets strange. If you go further back, you will see that tv shows of previous generations were thought of the same way. So do we just like the entertainment of our era? Or, has the quality of entertainment been dropping steadily over the years?

I haven't updated this blog for a long time (not that anyone cares) so I decided to update it today.

Manga

It's manga time, don't interrupt me.

For good or for bad I am a manga freak( Like seriously) . Thus should I get the energy to do so I will publish reviews/opinions of manga. Maybe even some anime episodes.
Just some quick notes on the type of manga/anime that I associate myself with:
I read a vast amount of shoujo manga. Strange I know but I am a sucker for anything with some sweet romance and most shonen tend to not provide much romance.
I still read a couple of weekly shonen though, some for laughs and others for interesting story lines/characters.
On that same regard most of the manga that I will blog about will be manga I consider worthy of me wasting time writing about them.
So for the types of blogs that I will post in relation to manga:


1.) Manga Review- Just a review- a blog talking about what I thought was good or bad in the manga, how it could have been better etc... I will also rate manga (out of 10 in most cases).

2.) Manga Look- Basically a review, but for manga that aren't finished yet. Even if the manga isn't finished I will still rate it but it might change depending on the ending.
A look I shall take.....

3.) Manga Dissection- I will dissect some part of a manga. Like a character, event, a special move etc.... There might be multiple dissections per manga or no dissections what so ever.
Hmm.... Dissection hmmmm.....

4.) Chapter/Volume Look- For manga I follow regularly I might make blogs taking a look at the new chapters that are released.
Fireworks+ Bleach=????

There might also be other forms of blogs like comparisons, parody's etc...

Sorry for the long winded post, most of the above is common sense but I posted it just to help me organize my future blogs.
